Author of more than 350 peer-reviewed articles and 80 books published by Springer (Germany), Elsevier (Holland) and in Russia, most of which are devoted to the study of the seas of Russia and the Arctic Ocean. In 1993-2021 he led 40 national and international research projects aimed at studying, in particular, the environment of the Black, Azov, Caspian, Aral and Baltic seas, oil pollution in the Russian seas, regional climate change in the Russian seas. Chief editor of the journal “Oceanological Research”, member of the editorial board of 5 peer-reviewed Russian journals, 9 foreign journals.
